VIN Check vs. REVS Check

Your VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) is the unique identifier found on your vehicle used to conduct a REVS check.

Essentially, a VIN Check is a REVS Check.

Visit our FAQ if you are having problems finding the VIN on your vehicle.

Prior to 2012, REVS checks were provided by the state based Register of Encumbered Vehicles (REVS) or Vehicle Securities Register (VSR).

REVS has now been replaced by the Personal Property Securities Register (PPSR).

Conducting a VIN Check on the PPS Register

REVSCheck.com.au will conduct an instant, online VIN check or VIN search for your motor vehicle by querying the Personal Property Securities Register to ensure that there is no financial interest owing on the vehicle. The PPSR Certificate issued (formerly REVS Certificate) contains

  • Finance check
  • Registration details

For eligible vehicles (vehicle manufactured after 1989 only), you can purchase a comprehensive CarHistory report, that contains

  • PPSR Certificate
  • Stolen check
  • Written-off check
  • Finance check
  • Registration details
  • odometer check
  • Price/odometer comparison
  • Vehicle valuation
  • VIN check
